OBM Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a major oil and gas operator for an HSE Advisor (Staff) to act as operational Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor for selected Asset/Project activities, in particular, to focus on proactive management of operational and field health and safety and support environmental work.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES – Areas of responsibility:

Act as Asset/Project operational focal point for the HSEQ Department on specific projects as defined
Evaluate contractors bid documentation, HSE Bridging Plans and associated HSE-MS documentation
Develop and implement Asset/Project HSE plans and establishing a clear matrix of in-house responsibilities and contractor responsibilities through effective bridging documents.
Preparation of Gated document deliverables and participation in Gated Processes
Develop operational HSE Management Plans, to ensure compliance with the commitments, permit/regulatory conditions and Corporate requirements.
Participate in project hazard identification workshop(s), risk assessment, emergency response training and exercise requirements
Meet regularly with the Contractor HSE managers to ensure that health, safety and environmental culture is integrated into activities and to ensure that all key contractors are aware of and share Company HSE objectives for designated project(s).
Manage technical (HSE) audits, Health and Safety inspections e.g. for drilling rig, vessels, helicopter and supply base, and all other Asset /Project related services to ensure compliance with Asset / Project HSE requirements.
Lead and participate in HSE Management visit’s and audits for surveillance of contractor activities.
Manage the project risk and compliance registers and ensure that risk mitigation plans are in place prior to mobilisation.
Supervising and directing field HSE Advisors in projects
Compulsory representation of Emergency Response Team

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education:
Degree in a relevant technical discipline.
NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH preferred.

Relevant Experience:
Extensive prior experience gained in a Health and Safety (E) advisory role, including overseas experience, preferably with an Oil and Gas Operator across seismic, drilling and operating activities

Thorough knowledge and experience of implementing HSE Plans, Procedures, Methods, Reporting, Training to UK/EU/International IOC levels and ISO 14001/OHSAS18001- including developing/implementing HSE Policies, Procedures, and Safety, Security and CR programmes
HAZOPS, HAZID and Risk assessment competence
Accident / Incident Investigation competence
Adept at Planning, Organising and Coordinating
Experience of MS Office + HSE standards/Programmes
Experience of working in an international context.
Experience of working with in a demanding operating team environment, and demonstrating a strong awareness of HSE and risk management issues
Track record and ability to communicate in high pressure situations.
